Star Wars: Richard and Judy to go hans solo
Television presenter Richard Madeley has said he and his wife Judy Finnigan may bring their long-running on-screen partnership to an end. Speaking on BBC Radio 4′s Desert Island Discs, Madeley said: “It’s been 20 years of doing the same kind of thing.”
The pair are planning “tantalising solo projects” with Madeley set to star in a live-action remake of the 70s cartoon series Hong Kong Phooey and to front a series of hard-hitting documentaries for Channel Five about draylon. Madeley says he is keen to show the viewing public that he isn’t simply a smug, one-dimensional simpleton with the emotional reach of a tin of hairspray.
Ms Finnegan said that she too wanted to expand her range and was considering a switch from cheerful and chatty to very cheerful and very chatty with an occasional flirtation with thoughtful. She is said to be considering offers from The South Bank Show and from Newsnight, both of whom are believed to need someone to make the tea.
