Home Secretary’s hubby enjoys home cooking
The husband of Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has said he is sorry for embarrassing his wife after two adult films were viewed at their home, then claimed for on expenses. Richard Timney, who is also Jacqui Smith’s parliamentary aide, said he understood why people might be angry. It was reported that Ms Smith was “livid and shocked” when she found out about the films and is said to have given her husband a “real ear-bashing”.
A spokesman for Ms Smith denied the suggestion that if she had given something else a bashing then he might not have had to resort to pornography in the first place.
The Conservative Party denounced the incident as another example of Labour sleaze and of the Government wasting public money. David Cameron questioned why anyone would even think of paying for porn when so much of it was readily available for free on the internet.
Ms Smith was not at either of her homes when the adult videos were watched as she was under a three-line whip to attend the Commons, a position remarkably similar to that in which her husband found himself.
