Brown wants to be economic top Scottie dog
Gordon Brown has arrived in the US to deliver a “clear message” to Barack Obama that urgent, worldwide action is needed to tackle the economic crisis.
Mr Brown said that he was bringing details of an economic strategy that had served him well in the past and which he felt was applicable to the current predicament. He said it was vital that investment is made at every opportunity because it is only by taking ownership of the situation that rewards could be reaped. The Prime Minister also said that it is worthwhile to take a chance and that the benefits of the community chest should be used wisely.
However he added that he did not favour buying public utilities such as the water works or the electricity company as they rarely pay enough rent. He said he was much more inclined towards buying property and that railway stations were also a personal favourite.
Asked about disgraced RBS banker Sir Fred Goodwin, Mr Brown said that he should go directly to jail, should not pass go and should not collect £639,000.
